Drink Water App ("we", "our", or "the App") is a hydration tracking application developed and operated as an independent project. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the App, how it is used, and what controls you have over it.
By installing or using Drink Water App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide - stored locally on your device
During onboarding and normal use, the App asks for:

All of the above is stored exclusively on your device using the device local storage. It is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
2.2 App Usage Data - stored locally on your device
The App records the following data as you use it:
- Water intake logs: amount, timestamp, and entry type (manual, from notification, or skipped).
- Daily hydration goals: target amounts and effective dates.
- Drink suggestions: custom quick-add amounts you create.
This data is stored locally on your device.
2.3 Anonymous Usage Analytics — optional, opt-out available
With your consent, the App sends anonymous usage events to Mixpanel to help us understand which features are used and improve the App. Specifically:
- App opened / onboarding started, completed, or abandoned
- Drink recorded and source of the "drink" action (e.g.: notification or app)
- Custom preset created
- Drink suggestions quick-add sheet opened
No personal data, water log content, or identifiable information is included in these events. Each device is assigned a random anonymous ID that is not linked to your name, email, or any other identity. The App does not collect your name, email address, or any other identity information from any source.
- Mixpanel data is processed on servers located in the European Union.
- You can opt out at any time from Settings → Privacy & Legal → Usage Tracking.
- Once opted out, no further events are sent and the anonymous ID is reset.
2.4 Crash Reports
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to automatically collect crash reports when the App unexpectedly stops. These reports contain:
- Stack traces (code location of the error)
- Device model and Android version
- App version
- Time of crash
Crash reports do not include your personal data or water logs. They are used solely to identify and fix bugs.
2.5 Advertising Data
The free version uses Google AdMob, which may collect device advertising identifiers to show relevant ads. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device's Google settings.
Purchasing Remove Ads permanently disables all ads and associated tracking. We ensure no further connections are made to advertising services once the ad-free purchase is completed. If you notice any continued ad-related activity after purchasing, please report this unusual behavior so we can take immediate action.
2.6 Purchase Information
In-app purchases are processed through RevenueCat, which receives Google Play purchase tokens (issued by Google, not by us) and your entitlement status (whether ads are removed). RevenueCat does not receive any other sensitive information. If you notice any unusual activity, we encourage you to report it so we can take appropriate action. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.

We may also disclose your information if required by law or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public. The App generates a unique ID per installation, which means it is not possible to identify a specific user unless local device files are accessed. In any case, any user may request removal of their data at any time; reinstalling the App also permanently deletes all local data.
Tracking information is used solely to determine which settings and features are most commonly used, in order to set better defaults in future updates and to add or remove features based on usage patterns. All of this is aimed at improving the user experience.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local app data remains on your device until you uninstall the App or use "Clear all data" in Settings.
- Mixpanel analytics data is retained by Mixpanel per their policy (typically 5 years). Opt out at any time to stop future collection.
- Crashlytics reports are retained by Google per Firebase's policies.
- RevenueCat purchase records are retained as required by app store terms and applicable law.

The App is simple to use and may be used by people of any age. We recommend that minors be guided by a parent or guardian before using the App. The App is not directed at minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. 9. Data Security
All data you enter into the App is stored locally on your device's storage. We do not operate servers that store your personal hydration data. However, no method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we encourage you to protect your device with the recommended security techniques.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your country of residence, you may have the right to:
- Access - all your data is visible within the App itself.
- Correct - edit data via the App's settings and onboarding screens.
- Delete - use Settings → Clear Data, or uninstall the App.
- Withdraw consent for analytics - Settings → Privacy & Legal → Usage Tracking.
- Object or restrict processing - contact us for requests beyond what the App covers.
EEA users: you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California (CCPA): we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the App on next launch. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

2.2 Datos de uso de la App - almacenados localmente en tu dispositivo
La App registra los siguientes datos durante su uso:
- Registros de ingesta de agua: cantidad, marca de tiempo y tipo de entrada (manual, desde notificación o saltado).
- Metas diarias de hidratación: cantidades objetivo y fechas de vigencia.
- Sugerencias de bebida: cantidades personalizadas de adición rápida que creas.
Estos datos se almacenan localmente en tu dispositivo.
2.3 Análisis de uso anónimo - opcional, con opción de desactivación
Con tu consentimiento, la App envía eventos de uso anónimos a Mixpanel para ayudarnos a entender qué funciones se usan y mejorar la App. Específicamente:
- App abierta / configuración inicial iniciada, completada o abandonada
- Bebida registrada y fuente de la acción de "beber" (p. ej.: notificación o app)
- Preset personalizado creado
- Hoja de adición rápida de sugerencias de bebida abierta
Ningún dato personal, contenido del registro de agua o información identificable se incluye en estos eventos. A cada dispositivo se le asigna un ID anónimo aleatorio que no está vinculado a tu nombre, correo u otra identidad. La App no recopila tu nombre, dirección de correo electrónico ni ninguna otra información de identidad de ninguna fuente.
- Los datos de Mixpanel se procesan en servidores ubicados en la Unión Europea.
- Puedes desactivarlo en cualquier momento desde Ajustes → Privacidad y legal → Seguimiento de uso.
- Una vez desactivado, no se envían más eventos y el ID anónimo se restablece.
2.4 Reportes de fallos
La App usa Firebase Crashlytics (Google) para recopilar automáticamente reportes de fallos. Estos reportes contienen:
- Stack traces (ubicación en el código del error)
- Modelo del dispositivo y versión de Android
- Versión de la App
- Hora del fallo
Los reportes de fallos no incluyen datos personales ni registros de agua. Se usan únicamente para identificar y corregir errores.
2.5 Datos de publicidad
La versión gratuita usa Google AdMob, que puede recopilar identificadores de publicidad del dispositivo para mostrar anuncios relevantes. Puedes restablecer o limitar tu ID de publicidad en la configuración de Google de tu dispositivo.
Comprar Remove Ads desactiva permanentemente todos los anuncios y el seguimiento asociado. Nos aseguramos de que no se realicen más conexiones a servicios de publicidad una vez completada la compra sin anuncios. Si notas alguna actividad relacionada con anuncios después de comprar, por favor reporta este comportamiento inusual para que podamos tomar medidas inmediatas.
2.6 Información de compras
Las compras dentro de la App se procesan a través de RevenueCat, que recibe tokens de compra de Google Play (emitidos por Google, no por nosotros) y tu estado de derecho (si los anuncios están desactivados). RevenueCat no recibe ninguna otra información confidencial. Si notas alguna actividad inusual, te invitamos a reportarla para que podamos tomar las medidas apropiadas. También podemos divulgar tu información si lo exige la ley o una orden judicial, o para proteger los derechos, la seguridad o la propiedad de los usuarios o el público. La App genera un ID único por instalación, lo que significa que no es posible identificar a un usuario específico a menos que se acceda a los archivos locales del dispositivo. En cualquier caso, cualquier usuario puede solicitar la eliminación de sus datos en cualquier momento; reinstalar la App también elimina permanentemente todos los datos locales.
La información de seguimiento se usa únicamente para determinar qué ajustes y funciones son más utilizados, con el fin de establecer mejores valores predeterminados en futuras actualizaciones y agregar o eliminar funciones según los patrones de uso. 6. Retención y eliminación de datos
- Datos locales de la App permanecen en tu dispositivo hasta que la desinstales o uses "Borrar todos los datos" en Ajustes.
- Datos de análisis de Mixpanel retenidos según su política (típicamente 5 años). Puedes desactivarlo en cualquier momento.

Alle oben genannten Daten werden ausschließlich auf deinem Gerät gespeichert und verwenden den lokalen Gerätespeicher. Sie werden niemals an unsere Server oder Dritte übertragen.
2.2 App-Nutzungsdaten - lokal auf deinem Gerät gespeichert
Die App erfasst bei der Nutzung folgende Daten:
- Wasseraufnahmeprotokolle: Menge, Zeitstempel und Eintragstyp (manuell, aus Benachrichtigung oder übersprungen).
- Tägliche Hydrationsziele: Zielmengen und Gültigkeitsdaten.
- Trinkvorschläge: Benutzerdefinierte Schnellerfassungsmengen, die du erstellst.
Diese Daten werden lokal auf deinem Gerät gespeichert.
2.3 Anonyme Nutzungsanalysen - optional, abwählbar
Mit deiner Zustimmung sendet die App anonyme Nutzungsereignisse an Mixpanel, um uns zu helfen zu verstehen, welche Funktionen genutzt werden, und die App zu verbessern. Konkret:
- App geöffnet / Einrichtung gestartet, abgeschlossen oder abgebrochen
- Getränk erfasst und Quelle der "Trink"-Aktion (z. B.: Benachrichtigung oder App)
- Benutzerdefiniertes Preset erstellt
- Schnellzugriff-Panel für Trinkvorschläge geöffnet
Keine persönlichen Daten, Wasserprotokoll-Inhalte oder identifizierbare Informationen werden in diesen Ereignissen übermittelt. Jedem Gerät wird eine zufällige anonyme ID zugewiesen, die nicht mit deinem Namen, deiner E-Mail oder einer anderen Identität verknüpft ist. Die App erfasst weder deinen Namen, deine E-Mail-Adresse noch andere Identitätsinformationen aus irgendeiner Quelle.
- Mixpanel-Daten werden auf Servern in der Europäischen Union verarbeitet.
- Du kannst dich jederzeit unter Einstellungen → Datenschutz und Recht → Nutzungsverfolgung abmelden.
- Nach dem Abmelden werden keine weiteren Ereignisse gesendet und die anonyme ID wird zurückgesetzt.
2.4 Absturzberichte
Die App verwendet Firebase Crashlytics (Google), um bei unerwarteten Abstürzen automatisch Absturzberichte zu erfassen. Diese Berichte enthalten:
- Stack-Traces (Codeposition des Fehlers)
- Gerätemodell und Android-Version
- App-Version
- Zeitpunkt des Absturzes
Absturzberichte enthalten keine persönlichen Daten oder Wasserprotokolle. Sie werden ausschließlich zur Identifizierung und Behebung von Fehlern verwendet.
2.5 Werbedaten
Die kostenlose Version verwendet Google AdMob, das Gerätewerbungs-IDs erfassen kann, um relevante Anzeigen zu zeigen. Du kannst deine Werbe-ID in den Google-Einstellungen deines Geräts zurücksetzen oder einschränken.
Der Kauf von Werbung entfernen deaktiviert dauerhaft alle Anzeigen und das damit verbundene Tracking. Wir stellen sicher, dass nach Abschluss des werbefreien Kaufs keine weiteren Verbindungen zu Werbediensten hergestellt werden. Wenn du nach dem Kauf weiterhin werbebezogene Aktivitäten feststellst, melde dieses ungewöhnliche Verhalten bitte, damit wir sofort handeln können.
2.6 Kaufinformationen
In-App-Käufe werden über RevenueCat abgewickelt, das Google Play-Kauftokens (von Google ausgestellt, nicht von uns) und deinen Berechtigungsstatus (ob Werbung entfernt wurde) erhält. RevenueCat erhält keine weiteren sensiblen Informationen. Wenn du ungewöhnliche Aktivitäten feststellst, empfehlen wir dir, diese zu melden, damit wir geeignete Maßnahmen ergreifen können. - Use the App for any unlawful purpose

3. App Features and Availability
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the entire App at any time without notice.
The App requires an active internet connection for certain features (ads, analytics, and purchase validation). Core hydration tracking features work offline.
4. In-App Purchases
4.1 Remove Ads - one-time purchase
The App offers a one-time in-app purchase to permanently remove advertisements. By completing a purchase:
- You receive a non-transferable entitlement to the ad-free version of the App on the store you made the purchase. RevenueCat handles purchase management and restoration.
- When the purchase is processed by Google Play it is done in accordance with Google's Terms of Service.
- All payment handling is managed by Google Play and RevenueCat. We do not store your payment information.
4.2 Restoring Purchases
If you reinstall the App or switch to a new device, you can restore your purchase via Settings → Restore Purchases. For more information about purchase restoration, please review RevenueCat's terms.
4.3 Refunds
All purchases are subject to the refund policy of the store where the purchase was made.
All purchases made through the Google Play Store are subject to Google Play's refund policy. We are unable to issue refunds directly. To request a refund, visit play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory within the eligible refund window (typically 48 hours of purchase).
5. User-Generated Data
All data you enter into the App (water logs, goals, custom presets, personal profile) is owned by you and stored exclusively on your device. We make no claim over this data. You are responsible for backing it up. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes this data.
6. Notifications and Reminders
By granting notification permission, you authorize the App to send drink reminders at the frequency and during the active hours you configure. You can modify or disable notifications at any time through the App's Settings or your device's system notification settings.
Exact alarm scheduling may be affected by Android battery optimization settings on your device.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components
- The hydration recommendations are accurate for your specific medical or physiological situation
- The App will meet your specific requirements
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including:
- Loss of data
- Loss of revenue or profits
- Health outcomes related to use or non-use of the App's recommendations
- Damages arising from the App's unavailability or interruption
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Third-Party Services
The App integrates Google AdMob, Firebase Crashlytics, Mixpanel, and RevenueCat. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services.
10. Intellectual Property

Die App bietet einen einmaligen In-App-Kauf zum dauerhaften Entfernen von Werbeanzeigen. Mit Abschluss eines Kaufs:
- Erhältst du einen nicht übertragbaren Anspruch auf die werbefreie Version der App im Store, in dem du den Kauf getätigt hast. RevenueCat verwaltet die Kaufabwicklung und Wiederherstellung.
- Wenn der Kauf über Google Play abgewickelt wird, erfolgt dies gemäß den Google-Nutzungsbedingungen.
- Wird die gesamte Zahlungsabwicklung von Google Play und RevenueCat verwaltet. Wir speichern keine Zahlungsinformationen von dir.
4.2 Käufe wiederherstellen

Du kannst Benachrichtigungen jederzeit über die App-Einstellungen oder die Systembenachrichtigungseinstellungen deines Geräts ändern oder deaktivieren.
Die genaue Alarmplanung kann durch die Android-Akkuoptimierungseinstellungen auf deinem Gerät beeinflusst werden.
7. Gewährleistungsausschluss
Die App wird „wie besehen" ohne jegliche Gewährleistung bereitgestellt, weder ausdrücklich noch stillschweigend, einschließlich, aber nicht beschränkt auf stillschweigende Gewährleistungen der Marktgängigkeit, Eignung für einen bestimmten Zweck oder Nichtverletzung.
Wir garantieren nicht, dass:
- Die App ununterbrochen, fehlerfrei oder frei von schädlichen Komponenten ist
- Die Hydrationsempfehlungen für deine spezifische medizinische oder physiologische Situation zutreffend sind
